## Definition

A liquidation heatmap estimates where leveraged positions cluster and would be forcibly closed if price reached them. Traders commonly read dense zones as levels where forced orders would add to a move if price reached them, which is why they watch the nearest zones above and below the current price; the map is an estimate, not a prediction. The estimates come from open interest, typical leverage bands, and recent entries, not from the actual liquidation book (exchanges do not publish that). We compute a free multi-venue map across 201 major perpetuals, refreshed every 10 minutes, with the nearest clusters highlighted and real liquidation prints from eleven exchange feeds overlaid.
