Who Is Hitting the Market With Size Right Now?

When someone crosses the spread with a million dollars or more in one aggressive order, they are paying for immediacy, and that urgency is information. This tape captures every such print on the Binance USDT-M perpetuals our sockets watch: the aggressor's side, the price, the notional and the moment it hit. Live strip on this page, archived for 90 days, side conventions stated plainly.

Methodology and honest limits

Source: our own always-on aggTrade sockets to Binance USDT-M perpetuals (the same feed that powers the flow and CVD pages). A row is an aggressive SWEEP: same-side prints on a symbol summed over a rolling 1-second window, recorded once when the sum crosses $1M (one burst, one row). The side shown is the aggressor's.

The 1-second window catches orders that sweep several price levels, but slower slicing and iceberg executions still hide size, so treat counts as a floor, not a census. Passive whales (resting limit orders) are invisible here by definition; the tape measures urgency, not holdings.

Binance USDT-M only for now; the venue column is ready for Bybit and OKX expansion. Recording started 2026-08-13 with 90-day retention; there is no reconstructed history because no honest source for it exists.

FAQ

Does a giant buy print mean the price will go up?

No. It means someone paid a premium for immediacy. Clusters of same-side urgency around a level are context worth reading with the liquidation map, not a signal on their own.

Why $1M as the line?

It is far above retail clip sizes on every symbol we track, and it keeps the tape readable: dozens of prints per day rather than thousands. The threshold is stated so you can judge it.

Can whales hide from this tape?

Easily: slicing into sub-$1M child orders, icebergs or passive resting orders all evade it. That is exactly why we call it a floor on urgency rather than a whale census.

Where is the history?

The tape archives 90 days on a rolling basis via the public API. Longer aggregates fold into our daily datasets as the record deepens.
