Exchanges flush $1.7M of Zcash longs
A one sided flush just ran through Zcash. Exchanges closed $1.7M of leveraged $ZEC long positions, bets on a higher price, in the last 30 minutes because their margin ran out. The count comes from the raw liquidation streams of the major venues.
The other side was barely touched. Short positions, bets on a lower price, saw just $1.7K liquidated over the same window.
Nearly all the forced closing in this burst fell on buyers using leverage.

Leveraged Ether longs take a $5.0M hit
Ether's leveraged buyers absorbed most of a sudden liquidation burst. Over the last 30 minutes, $5.0M of $ETH long positions, bets on a higher price, were closed by exchanges after their margin ran out.
The other side was hit too, with less damage. Short liquidations, positions betting on a drop, came to $1.9M in the same window.
Both figures are counted from the raw liquidation streams of the major venues.

LiquidationsAlert
Leveraged silver longs lose $6.8M
Silver traders who borrowed to bet on higher prices just got hit. In the last 30 minutes, $6.8M of leveraged $XAG long positions were liquidated, meaning exchanges closed them because margin ran out.
Traders positioned for a drop barely felt it. Short liquidations came to $8.5K over the same window.
The count comes from the raw liquidation streams of the major venues, so the burst sat almost entirely with buyers on leverage.

Bitcoin longs just lost $5.0M in a flush
A burst of forced selling just ran through Bitcoin longs. Over the last 30 minutes, exchanges closed $5.0M of leveraged $BTC positions that were betting on a higher price, counted from the raw liquidation streams of the major venues.
The opposite side got off lightly. Positions betting on a drop lost $683.9K in the same window.
That leaves buyers using borrowed money carrying the bulk of this flush, with the short side mostly left standing.

Exchange HealthAlert
XT closes Bitcoin withdrawals on its main chain
Bitcoin can no longer leave XT over the main Bitcoin network. The exchange has just closed $BTC withdrawals on that route, as recorded from its own currency list in our daily read.
Those affected are holders with Bitcoin on XT who planned to move it to a wallet or another venue on chain. Deposits and other networks may still be open.
A closed withdrawal route is the earliest public sign a venue gives when something is wrong, though most pauses turn out to be routine maintenance.

SuperChart
A $4.0M short was forced out on Binance
A trader betting against Bitcoin took the heaviest single hit of the 24 hours to Oct 14, a short liquidation of $4.0M on Binance.
$BTC ended that window +1.96% at $83,418. Across the day our collectors logged 1,676 recorded prints of $1K or more, each one a leveraged position the exchange closed out.
The heatmap behind the candles is an estimate of where leverage sits. The prints on the candles are recorded closures.
Liquidations
Leveraged longs carried most of the losses
Traders betting on higher prices took the brunt of Oct 13. Of $358.5M in recorded forced closures, $250.0M came from longs, a 69.7% share, across 95,103 liquidations on 11 venues and 955 symbols.
$ETH led with $75.9M, $43.4M of it from longs. $BTC was close behind at $70.3M and split almost evenly, $35.9M long against $34.4M short. $SOL leaned hard to one side, with $25.3M of its $30.8M from longs. The largest single liquidation was a Bitcoin position on Binance.
The day came in 15.5% below Oct 12's $424.3M but stayed above the 7 day average of $327.0M. These totals are a floor from the venues' public streams.
TradFi Perps
Chip stock longs lead $61.77M in liquidations
Bets on a rise in chip and Korea linked names took the heaviest losses across Binance's TradFi perpetuals on Oct 13. SNDK led with $11.18M force closed, $7.77M of it from longs, followed by KORU at $6.59M and SOXL at $5.61M. The largest single forced closure of the day was a $1.14M SKHYNIX position.
In total $61.77M was liquidated across 214 contracts and 11,338 events, split 80% longs / 20% shorts. That is +24% on Oct 12, when $49.86M was cleared.
Crude oil went against the grain. Of the $3.29M liquidated in CL, $2.50M came from traders positioned for a fall. Silver went the other way, with $2.99M of XAG's $3.02M coming from longs.
Network Health
Miners pushed hashrate to 1077 EH/s
Miners pointed more computing power at Bitcoin through the past month. On Oct 13 our node measured the hashrate, the total computing power securing the network, at 1077 EH/s. That is a +4.7% change over 7 days and +20.0% over 30 days.
Mining difficulty, the setting for how hard it is to find a block, read 132.72T. Blockspace stayed cheap, with fees at 1.0 sat/vB, and miners took in 477.9 BTC in revenue on the day.
Borrow Rates
BNB longs on OKX pay 10.95% a year
On OKX, traders holding long $BNB perpetuals were paying the short side 10.95% a year to keep their bets open in the read taken at 05:25 UTC on Oct 14. Borrowing BNB on the same venue cost just 1% a year.
That left a recorded gap of 9.95% between what longs paid and what borrowing cost, the widest among the 15 assets we track across three venues.
Dollars for margin cost far more. USDT borrowing ran 3.5% a year on OKX, the cheapest venue, and 4.77% on Binance, the priciest. Bybit charged 3.92%, which was also the median of the three.
Coinbase Premium
US buyers pay below global for 39th day
For a 39th day in a row, US buyers paid less for $BTC than traders on global exchanges. On Oct 13 the Coinbase premium, the gap between the US price and the global one, closed at -0.081%.
That discount was a little smaller than the week's norm, with the 7 day average at -0.094%. The gap is thin in dollar terms, and it has stayed on the discount side every day of the run.
In futures, quarterly Bitcoin contracts traded above spot by +5.03% on an annualized basis, the premium those contracts carried over the coin itself, expressed as a yearly rate.

US Bitcoin buyers pay less for a 39th day
For the 39th day in a row, Bitcoin traded cheaper on Coinbase than on the rest of the market. The Coinbase premium, the price gap between the main US venue and global exchanges, reads -0.081% today.
Across the last 7 days that gap averaged -0.094%. Today's discount is a little smaller than the week's typical reading, but it remains on the negative side.
The premium shows where buyers are paying more, not which way price moves. A streak this long means buyers on Coinbase have paid less than buyers offshore for well over a month.
Options Flow
Bitcoin put buyers outspent call buyers
Bitcoin option buyers put more money behind a drop than a rise over the past 24 hours. They paid $5.5M in premium for puts, which pay if price falls, against $3.4M for calls, which gain if it rises.
Big negotiated deals carried most of the money. Block trades, arranged off the order book and reported to the venue, made up 82% of all premium dollars across 13,724 recorded trades.
The two largest trades of the past 48 hours sat on the same Mar 26, 2027 expiry. A $21.4M block of $200,000 puts was sold, and a $20.6M block of $190,000 puts was bought.
Daily Brief
US buyers bid under global price for 39 days
Greed on the sentiment gauge, a discount in America. The Fear and Greed index reads 62 on Oct 14, and Coinbase traders have bid Bitcoin below the global price for 39 straight days. The Coinbase premium, the gap between the US price and everyone else, is -0.08%.
$BTC traded at $83,515, down 0.09% over 24 hours, and holds 59.85% of a $2.8T crypto market.
None of the 10 majors we track added leverage over the day, and one saw positions squeezed out. Open bets on Bitcoin's main USDT perpetual moved -2.1% against a -0.2% price change.
Expiries and Settlements
One Avalanche future settled on Deribit
Avalanche gave the only dated futures settlement our collectors recorded in the 24 hours to 09:15 UTC on Oct 14. A Deribit AVAX contract settled at $10.187 at 08:00 UTC.
The next 7 days are fuller. 107 dated futures expire across 11 venues, alongside 6,691 option contracts.
Oct 15 brings the nearest batch. Deribit has 12 $BTC and 12 $ETH delivery contracts ending that day, plus one each in $SOL, Avalanche and Hype. Bullish has a single Bitcoin delivery contract on the same date.
Insurance Funds
OKX fund covers 61.41% of its open bets
OKX keeps a $3.04B insurance fund, equal to 61.41% of the open perpetual positions on the coins we track there. Across all 10 venues the same measure reads 16.64%. An insurance fund is the cash an exchange holds to pay for liquidations that close below the bankruptcy price, the point where a trader's margin is gone.
The 10 funds together held $7.69B on Oct 14, a -0.01% change over 24 hours, or -$1.1M, and -0.22% over 7 days. MEXC moved most, at -0.24%, leaving $637.7M. Binance holds $2.43B and Bybit $1.17B.
These are balances the venues report themselves, not audits.
Order Book Heatmap
Bitcoin bid depth grows 17.9% in a day
Resting bids within 2% of the $BTC price came to $156.0M at 09:35 UTC on Oct 14, 17.9% deeper than 24 hours earlier. Ask depth in the same range grew only 1.2%, so sellers still hold the larger side at $180.2M, a -7.2% imbalance against buyers across 21 spot venues.
The biggest walls sit tight around the $83.2K mid. Bids of $39.4M rest at $83.2K, 0.05% below, and $42.2M of asks wait at $83.3K, 0.05% above.
A day earlier the mid was $83.6K. Resting orders can be pulled at any moment, and this read is a snapshot of the book, not a map of where price goes.
Whale Tape
Whale money split between buyers and sellers
Large orders gave neither side control over the 24 hours to 10:00 UTC on Oct 14. Sellers moved $6.03B against $5.85B from buyers, leaving buyers with 49.3% of the flow, inside the 45% to 55% range we count as two sided.
Bitcoin drew the most whale money at $6.95B across 3,483 trades, ahead of Ether at $4.27B across 2,401. Solana came a distant third at $440.5M.
The biggest single order of the window, $22.0M, also landed on $BTC, one of 6,327 large trades recorded across the day.
LiqMap
Long liquidation risk stacks below Bitcoin
Modeled liquidation risk around $BTC leaned on leveraged longs on Oct 14. Within 3% of the $83,405 price, the estimated map carried more exposure below the price than above it.
Under the price, the nearest modeled long liquidations begin at $82,956, and the largest cluster sits at $80,521. Above, the closest estimated short liquidations are at $83,735, with the biggest cluster at $86,268.
These levels are modeled from open interest and leverage. They are not recorded liquidations.
OI Leaderboard
Bitcoin traders trim futures bets by 2.73%
Bitcoin traders closed more futures bets than any other large coin in the 24 hours to Oct 14, 11:35 UTC. Open interest, the value of futures bets still open, moved -2.73% in $BTC with price at 0.14%. Longs still paid shorts a small fee to stay in, a funding rate of 0.0033%.
Solana and Ether saw the same trimming into small gains. $SOL open interest moved -1.17% with price at 0.97%, and $ETH moved -0.73% with price at 0.17%.
The builds were small. Dogecoin led them at 1.54% with price at 1.08%, and Avalanche added 1.11% even with price at -0.35%.
New Listings
OKX lists four new perpetual contracts
OKX led the day's listings. Four perpetual contracts, futures with no expiry date, went live there together at 09:52 UTC on Oct 14. They are SOFI, TLT, TXN and VICR, all settled against USDT.
HTX added SBUX and UMC at 07:52 UTC, and BingX listed VEIL at 03:52 UTC. That makes seven new contracts in the 24 hours to 12:30 UTC.
Each of the seven trades on a single venue so far, so its price comes from one exchange's order book.
Free Datasets
A block trader sold a $21.40M put
The day's largest options trade was a sale. A block trader sold a $BTC put with a $200,000 strike expiring Mar 26, 2027, collecting $21.40M in premium. The seller keeps that cash and takes on the obligation to buy at $200,000 if Bitcoin sits below that level at expiry.
On the buying side, puts led. Traders spent $6.26M buying puts, the contracts that pay when price falls, against $4.04M buying calls.
Block trades, large deals arranged away from the public order book, made up 82% of the flow.
Symbols Board
Bitcoin and Ether trade below yesterday's range
Bitcoin and Ether have both dropped under the range where they spent most of yesterday's session. At 12:44 UTC, ahead of the US open, $BTC traded at $82,805.60 and $ETH at $2,481.81.
On Oct 13, 70% of trading time in Bitcoin perpetuals sat between $83,040.70 and $83,817.93, around a most traded price of $83,388.41. Bitcoin closed that session inside the range at $83,125.70.
Ether's range ran from $2,492.32 to $2,535.12, centred on $2,510.05. Its close came at $2,496.89, still inside before the move below.
LiqMap
Ether's modeled long levels hug the price
On Oct 14 at 13:00 UTC, Ether traded at $2,475 with the first estimated long liquidation levels sitting at $2,473, almost touching the price. These are modeled levels built from open interest and leverage, not recorded closures.
Within 3% of price, more modeled exposure belongs to leveraged buyers than to sellers. Below, the larger long cluster sits at $2,424. Above, the nearest estimated short levels start at $2,499, with a bigger group at $2,586, where traders betting on a fall would be forced to buy back.
Tokenized Stocks
xStocks adds 40 tokenized stock wrappers
Booking Holdings stock showed up on chain in several places on Oct 14. Among the 46 new tokenized stock wrappers recorded that day, xStocks issued $BKNG as BKNGx on Arbitrum, BNB Chain, Ethereum, HyperEVM, Ink and Mantle.
xStocks issued 40 of the day's wrappers. Coinbase Tokenized Stocks added 5 and Backpack Securities 1. Every entry is taken from the issuers' own lists, not from a name search.
By chain, Base and Solana took 5 each. Arbitrum, BNB Chain, Ethereum, HyperEVM, Ink, Mantle, Optimism, TON and X Layer took 4 each.
ETF Flows
Fidelity leads a $175.6M Bitcoin ETF inflow
US spot Bitcoin ETFs bought on Oct 13. The funds took in a net $175.6M, meaning they bought spot $BTC for new money, and Fidelity's FBTC did the heaviest lifting with $103.1M.
One day doesn't set the week. Over the last five sessions the funds still show net redemptions of -$599.8M, so the trend reads mixed. Total net assets stand at $106.98B, with $57.22B of cumulative inflows since launch.
Ether funds added $24.8M on the same day.
Slippage Map
Chainlink's book costs the most to trade
Chainlink had the thinnest order book of the eight we track on Oct 14. A $1.0M market order in $LINK cost an estimated 24.9 bps in slippage. The same order in $BTC cost 0.6 bps.
Cardano came next at 21.8 bps, then Dogecoin at 11.8 bps and BNB at 8.1 bps. On the deep side, Ether came in at 1 bps and Solana at 3.7 bps.
Slippage is how far the price moves against an order as it eats through resting bids or asks. In Chainlink and Cardano, a big forced closure on either side pushes the price further per dollar than it does in the majors.
Order Book Heatmap
Bitcoin and Ether books lean opposite ways
Bitcoin and Ether order books split at 13:58 UTC on Oct 14. Across 21 spot venues, buyers had slightly more money resting near the price in $BTC. In $ETH, sellers had the heavier side.
Within 2% of the price, Bitcoin carried $169.3M of bids against $158.7M of asks, a 3.3% tilt to buyers. Ether showed $78.0M of bids against $92.7M of asks, an imbalance of -8.6%.
The biggest single walls sat tight around both prices. Bitcoin had $37.4M offered at $82,792 and $32.1M bid at $82,626. Ether's largest offer was $17.4M at $2,470, against $12.5M bid at $2,466. These are resting orders that can be pulled, not trades.
Long/Short Pressure
New money crowds into long bets
New money piled into long bets at the top of our pressure board in the Oct 14 snapshot at 15:00 UTC. $Q led with a score of 56. Open interest, the total of open futures positions, grew 33.62% over 24 hours, and funding stood at 0.02%, a small fee longs paid shorts to keep their bets on.
$TRUTH saw the biggest build, with open interest up 64.87% and funding at 0.01%. The $QQQ contract added 32.48% with funding at 0.02%. Fresh positions arriving with longs footing the bill is what crowding on one side looks like.
On the other side of the board, BAT and FIL shed positions, with open interest at -6.11% and -8%. Their funding sat at -0.03% and -0.02%, so traders betting against them were the ones paying.
Turkey Premium
Turkey prices Bitcoin a hair under the world
Turkey priced Bitcoin a hair under the world on Oct 14, and even its dearest exchange sold below the global price. BtcTurk came in at -5.0 bps and CoinTR, the cheapest, at -9.3 bps, across five eligible exchanges.
Bought with lira at the official USD/TRY rate, $BTC traded at -0.08%, or -7.8 bps, against the global dollar price. Our score reads 47 / 100, a neutral regime.
The gap is a dollar story. Tether against the lira sat -8.1 bps under the official rate, and the Bitcoin leg added only +0.4 bps. The index averaged -11.7 bps over 24 hours and -0.6 bps across seven days. It is a price gap, not a trade anyone can lock in.
Order Book Heatmap
Bids deepen under Ether as asks thin
Ether's spot book got deeper on the bid side in the 24 hours to 15:35 UTC on Oct 14, even as the price slipped 2.8% to $2,436.44. Resting bids within 2% of the price are 7.5% deeper than a day earlier, and asks are 6.1% thinner.
Across 21 spot venues, $99.06M of bids sit within 2% of the mid against $84.44M of asks, an 8% tilt toward the bid side.
The two largest walls flank the price almost evenly. There are $16.38M of bids at $2,432.78, 0.15% below mid, and $17.85M of asks at $2,440.09, 0.15% above. Resting orders can be pulled at any moment, so this is a snapshot of the book, not a floor or a ceiling.
Funding Arb Scanner
Dogwifhat funding splits widest across venues
Four coins showed funding gaps wide enough to leave a modeled yearly carry after fees in the Oct 14 reading at 15:52 UTC, and $WIF led by a distance. Funding is the fee longs pay shorts, and for Dogwifhat the 8 hour rate ran 0.12% apart between venues, with Delta the cheapest place to hold a long.
$AVAX came next at 0.07%, cheapest on Kraken. $SOL showed 0.06%, with longs paying least on Kraken and most on Digifinex. Chainlink also showed 0.06%, with Extended the priciest venue for longs.
If the Dogwifhat gap held for a full year, it would annualize to an estimated 122.33% after taker fees. That is a model of the Oct 14 spread, not a recorded return.
RSI Heatmap
70 Binance perps read oversold on the daily
On Oct 14, 70 Binance crypto perps read oversold on the daily RSI, against 22 overbought. RSI is a 14 day gauge of how one sided recent moves have been. 30 or under counts as oversold, 70 or over as overbought.
1000RATS is the deepest reading at 14.9, after a -15.8% day. ARC follows at 19.9 (-6.6%) and BLUR at 21.2 (-13.8%). The average reading across the group is 43.3.
At the other end, TRUTH reads 84.2 after a +27.1% day. An oversold reading describes how far a move has run. It is not a signal on its own.
Long/Short + CVD

Options traders pay more for downside cover
Protection against a drop costs more than a bet on a rise across the 30 day options curve. The skew, the implied volatility gap between out of the money puts and calls, reads +3.3pp in favour of puts.
At the money implied volatility for the same 30 day horizon stands at 35.3, measured across 10 expiries. Skew shows how traders price one tail against the other, not which way they are positioned, so it is a reading of hedging cost rather than a direction call.
Altseason Index
Altcoins hold their lead over Bitcoin
Altcoins kept the upper hand on Bitcoin into Oct 14. The Altcoin Season Index reads 76, above the 75 line where altseason starts, with 37 of the 49 alts we sample beating $BTC over 90 days. Bitcoin itself gained 28% over that stretch, so the winners cleared a real bar.
The index is 1 point higher than seven days earlier. BTW leads the sample with a 40x run across 90 days, and GTC follows at +231.4%. At the other end, US sits at -82.6% and XLM at -1.4%.
A reading under 75 takes the index out of altseason and back into no clear season.

Glossary
Bitcoin carries 59.3% of crypto's value
Bitcoin carries 59.3% of crypto's $2.77T market value as of 19:42 UTC on Oct 14. Traders call that share dominance.
Ether, the second largest coin, holds 10.71%. Every other token, from big caps to fresh listings, splits whatever is left. That means a move in Bitcoin's price sways the value of the whole market more than any other coin can.
A single snapshot like this one shows where the money sat on Oct 14. It doesn't show which way that money is moving between Bitcoin and the rest.
